in the Xi’an International Trade & Logistics Park. As part of the China
Merchants Silk Road Centre project, Novotel Xi’an Aden will attract both
business and leisure travelers, with excellent facilities for conferences and
events. The hotel is the fifth Novotel in Xi’an, with more than 20 Novotel hotels in the Yangtze River Delta region. Accor currently has over 50 additional Novotel hotels in development across Greater China, which will
effectively double the brand’s presence in the country by 2030. “Novotel is one of
Accor’s foundational brands – the best known and most trusted midscale
hospitality brand in the world – and it has been one of the favorite
international hotel brands in China for almost 40 years,” said Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China. “The
brand has a unique ability to stay relevant, fresh, and evolve with the
changing needs of travelers. We’ve experienced a surge of momentum in
developing Novotel properties over the past several years, leading us to
this celebration of our 50th Novotel opening in Greater China, while
laying plans to open over 50 more within the next few years.” Clockwise: Novotel Suites Shanghai

Novotel Suzhou SIP The origins of Novotel date back to 1967, when Accor opened its
first hotel in France with a vision to create a European version of the popular
American motel concept. In 1984, Accor opened its first hotel in China – a Novotel in the vibrant city of Beijing. Since then, the brand has established
many important flagship hotels throughout the country, such as Novotel Shanghai Qingpu
Excellence; Novotel Shanghai Hongqiao; Novotel Suzhou SIP; Novotel Citygate Hong Kong; and Novotel Hong Kong Century. Novotel Living Chengdu Tianfu

Design has become
integral to Novotel’s positioning in recent years, and new hotels and
hotel refurbishments in China are now being styled with globally-sourced,
sustainable design concepts that blend business with pleasure, contribute
to a sense of well-being, and use space efficiently. The flexible design
templates provide the added benefit of customization in the Chinese market, allowing
hotel owners to tailor their design choices to best suit the unique character
and ecological sensitivities of each destination. Similarly, Novotel’s guest experience has rolled with the times, creating
innovative and eco-conscious guest experiences at its hotels across China, such
as reducing single-use plastics and installing biodegradable containers for
bathroom amenities. Hotel teams are sporting stylish new wardrobe
accessories made from recycled plastics, designed by the Fashion College at the
Uniform Research Centre of Donghua University, with sustainable materials
supplied by Goodcycle Environmental Technologies.
